President Joe Biden's former daughter-in-law Hallie Biden was married to his late son, Beau Biden, for over a decade.
Tragically, Beau passed away from brain cancer in 2015, an event that very much shaped the family dynamic from that point forward.
Now, Hallie has a new husband, John Hopkins Anning II. Who is the spouse of the woman who also previously dated embattled first son Hunter Biden after his brother's death?
Let's meet John and explore the newlyweds' relationship.
Here's what we know about Hallie Biden's new husband, John.
According to the Daily Mail, Hallie said "I do" to John in Ohio just as Hunter's trial was kicking off in Delaware in June 2024.
The outlet reports that John is a financial advisor at UBS The Anning Group along with his dad. John hails from the Buckeye State, and scandalously, is also a registered Republican.
It's being reported that John is a dad of grown children — Katherine, 25, Margot, 24, and John Hopkins III, 17. Meanwhile, Hallie has two children — Natalie, 19, and Robert, 18 — with her late first husband.
What we know about his first marriage is that John divorced his kids' mom, Katie Zicka, whom he met after college, after more than 15 years together. Legal documents state "differences have arisen that render it impossible for them to live together," with the former couple having resided in separate homes for a year before officially ending their union.
Per the Page Six, Hallie and John have been dating since 2021 — this would have been two years after Hallie and Hunter broke off their eyebrow-raising relationship — and it's believed the newlyweds got engaged in 2022 or 2023.
They tied the knot in Ohio following a romantic trip to France.
Hallie Biden's new husband was by her side as she testified in Hunter Biden's gun trial.
Just a few days into Hallie and John's brand new marriage, the couple found themselves in the spotlight. The blushing bride, clad in sunglasses, had to attend Hunter's gun trial in Delaware to share her testimony.
John was by her side and sporting matching shades. The duo held hands as they were photographed by paparazzi.
In court, Hallie's testimony was hard to hear, with the President's former daughter-in-law admitting she and Hunter did drugs together, and recounting how she found a gun belonging to the defendant in 2018.
Hallie then shared how she disposed of the firearm in a dumpster, telling prosecutors, “I didn’t want him to hurt himself or my kids to find it and hurt themselves. I realize it was a stupid idea now, but I was just panicking."
Per text messages exchanged between Hunter and Hallie, he wasn't happy with her decision, writing, “Did you take that from me Hallie? Are you insane?”
He also texted, “It’s hard for me to believe anyone is that stupid. Do you want me dead?” Her response? "I’m sorry. I just want you to be safe. That was not safe."
