Dancing with the Stars runner-up JoJo Siwa recently took to Twitter to respond to conservative commentator Candace Owens, who accused her of pretending to be a lesbian “for attention.” Siwa told Owens to “back the f*ck off.”

Candace Owens Accuses JoJo Siwa of Lying About Being Gay

In a video posted to the Twitter account for Owens’ podcast, the controversial commentator says, “I don’t believe JoJo Siwa is a lesbian, by the way. I want to state that very clearly. I do believe that she’s desperate for attention.”

Ownens played a clip of Siwa sharing her “gay awakening,” in which she references the Demi Lovato song “Cool for the Summer” and Jenna Dewan’s Lip Sync Battle performance. She adds that she was “grossed out” by the though of having sex with a man on a date.

“It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, and it’s very clear to me that she made that video for attention,” Owens says in the video. “She got attention, because it’s a great way to find a community of victims.”

Owens even went so far as to say that Siwa’s behavior on social media is “one giant cry for help.”

Siwa Responded to Owens on Twitter

Last week, Siwa took to Twitter to respond to Owens’ comments about her. She retweeted the video and wrote, “I haven’t watched the video yet…. But if it has anything to do with your caption, respectfully back the f*ck off.”

So far, Siwa’s response has over 21,000 likes, as fans share their support for the star. As columnist Jeff Benjamin wrote, “We love you, JoJo. Everyone knows who’s doing what for attention.”

However, not everyone is entirely on Siwa’s side. Owens also brought up the star’s recent pregnancy rumors. One user wrote that they “would never accuse someone for lying about their sexuality, but click-baiting and clout chasing by pretending to be pregnant is weird in my opinion.”
