Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has knocked a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Adamu Maina Waziri, over threats to sanction him following the crisis in the party.
Naija News reports that Wike during a live media chat with select television stations in Port Harcourt on Friday opined that PDP has never won Yobe state since the inception of democracy in 1999.
According to him, the opposition party had always scored zero in elections in the state and one of the problematic people in PDP is from Yobe State.
When one of the journalists probed to know the name of the person, Wike called Maina Waziri, stressing that he has nothing to offer to the party.
Wike added that Maina has been calling for his sanction whereas he (Wike) had contributed a hundred percent to PDP’s growth unlike Waziri who has brought nothing to the table.
2023: APC, Labour Party, Others Wooing Me
Meanwhile, Wike has claimed that many political parties are wooing him ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
Wike stated that other political parties have reached out to him because they want to get the vote of Rivers State.
While denying that speaking with other parties is an act of anti-party activity, Wike accused the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, of also speaking to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Wike, other political parties in Nigeria know he is very important, hence the moves to lure him to their camp.
