I have a love-hate relationship with cats. On the one hand, they're majestic creatures that I love cuddling and petting at every opportunity, allergies be damned.

On the other hand, sometimes cats don't want to be snuggled and loved. Which makes me feel rejected, like a total loser. I mean, why wouldn't this animal want to hang out with me? Is it because it sees right through me and knows that deep down inside I'm actually not that nice of a person? Way to make me feel like scum, cat!

But this one cyclist who met a friendly Quokka doesn't have that problem. In fact, it's exactly the opposite.

Because when he stopped to take a selfie with the smiley little dude, he couldn't get rid of him.

Campbell Jones went for a bike ride with his girlfriend when he happened upon a friendly little Quokka off the coast of Western Australia.

Now if you don't know what a Quokka is, it's a furry mammal endemic to Australia that is known as the "happiest animal on Earth."

Taking one look at their perpetual smiles, it's easy to see why.

After the impromptu photo session with the little guy, Jones put down his GoPro to get on his bike and ride away.

But the Quokka wasn't ready to let him leave. He jumped towards Campbell and his camera caught the perfect shot of it.

The little guy made a really strong connection with Jones and it was clear he wasn't ready to say goodbye to his new friend.

Sadly, he had to leave his Quokka friend behind, but don't worry! The bike trail Campbell rode on is a popular one and the Quokkas get plenty of friendly guests. They'll get to cling to other humans in no time. And hopefully those lucky humans post selfies for the rest of us to enjoy!
