'90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise': Shawn Crafts A "Big" Surprise for Alliya's Birthday (EXCLUSIVE CLIP)

Season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise has been quite the challenge for Shawn Finch and Alliya Batista. Their relationship undergoes significant transformations, particularly as Alliya, formerly identifying as a man named Douglas, embraces her feminine identity and transitions to Alliya while they are together.

Alliya's transition has tested her relationship with Shawn. Initially attracted to Alliya as Douglas, Shawn, a gay man, remarks in a previous episode that his partner is now "way different" than before. Despite this, Shawn wholeheartedly supports Alliya in her journey!

In an exclusive clip from the upcoming May 27 episode, obtained by Distractify, it seems Shawn is ready to take his and Alliya's relationship to the next level. Keep reading for all the known details!

Shawn plans to surprise Alliya with a proposal in '90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise.'

The exclusive clip opens with Alliya adjusting her wig cap while Shawn asks, "Feeling anxious about tonight, or is it just me?"

"Why are you stressing?" Alliya asks, to which Shawn responds, "Because I want to make sure everything goes OK."

Cut to Alliya in a confessional, bubbling with excitement as she shares, "Tonight, Shawn is throwing me a party for my 25th birthday. Everybody I care about will be in the same room together, and this is the first time that Shawn will meet my mother. I'm so excited."

Returning to the scene, Shawn grabs his belongings and bids Alliya farewell with a sweet kiss before exiting the room and heading into town.

Following a series of beautiful establishing shots, Shawn steps out of a van and strides into a restaurant to set up for what seems like Alliya's birthday celebration.

"Well, Alliya thinks that tonight is the celebration of her 25th birthday, which, of course, it is. But the reality is that I have a big, big, big surprise for Alliya tonight," Shawn hints with a grin in his confessional.

Back at the restaurant, Shawn hands a flash drive to one of the staff members. Photos of Alliya and Shawn from the drive light up on a projector, prompting Shawn to gaze at them fondly as he says, "These are all my favorite pictures from all of our different trips around the world, so it's nice to be reminded."

Back in his confessional, Shawn reflects, "Before coming on this trip, there [were] a lot of uncertainties for me about how things would be," including if he can "love Alliya as much as I love Douglas."

"But now I am trying to imagine a life with Alliya only, and I'm feeling that we can kind of start building a new love story. So, tonight, I'm going to surprise her with a proposal!" he declares as the clip wraps up.
